It’s that magical time of year: the Statements of Persons Nominated are (mostly) out!

💻 Start crowdsourcing candidate data now! 💻

The statements are the official lists of candidates for the local elections on 2 May. The statements must be published by local authorities by 4pm today.*

Typically, the statements are published as PDFs, buried deep in a council's website, which is no use to anyone. So we track them down and copy them to our website. Then we ask for your help to copy the names and party affiliations from the PDFs into our database. This will mean we can get the information to voters via Who Can I Vote For? or The Electoral Commission’s Your Vote Matters website — and so on.

Every edit earns points on the leaderboard! And every little helps: five minutes here or there over the next week will be useful. This year, we've even got some robot help — you might find it's quicker and easier than ever before.
