Hello,

There are just four weeks until the local elections on 4 May.

Councils across England and Wales have now published the official lists of candidates for the elections. We’ve imported them into our website.

Now we need your help to take the useful data out of the PDFs and into our free, open database.

We’ve assigned you a random ward across the country to complete. Start here!

We’ve seen some extraordinary crowdsourcing efforts already this month — such as completing the Scottish candidates data within a weekend — can we match it? Can you get on the leaderboard?

Your work will help voters across the UK to more easily find their candidates — and to vote in an informed way.
