Hello,
With just thirteen days to go, we’re excited by what we have already achieved to help voters in the general election.
First, the polling station finder has its best ever coverage — over 50% of councils across Britain.
Second, the candidates database is powering tens of campaigns that ask voters to engage with their candidates. It’s also in use for voter information purposes at Your Vote Matters, The Guardian and our own Who Can I Vote For? site.
And we can still do more to help voters make an informed decision.
You can help! Take ten minutes this weekend to:
- Ask candidates to write a Statement to voters (pop in your postcode, choose a candidate and if there's no 'Statement to voters', then email or tweet them!)
- Find email addresses for candidates (we have this for most of them, but a few are still holding out! Facebook pages can be a good source)
- Request your candidates’ CVs
- Use ElectionLeaflets.org to record the leaflets that come through your door
- Share this blog post about all these tasks!
Thanks in advance for all your help, and enjoy the sun too,
Joe, Sym, Chris and all at Democracy Club
P.S. We’ve spent a lot more money than planned this year — thanks to the snap election. Do please help us out if you think this work matters!
